Introduction to Computer Modeling

In everyday language, the word "modeling" is used rather loosely and widely applied in many disciplines. You use it in formal analytical aspects to explore and understand the nature of physical processes, behavioral processes, or systems of operations (such as mathematical models, scientific models, business models, and urban planning models). You also use it in making realistic scaled models to represent objects. All these definitions have something in common, you try to represent something, either physical or non-physical. Figure 1 shows a clay model of a car.
